Answers to Frequently Asked Questions about CE Workshops

Do I have to be a licensed massage therapist to attend workshops?

Biotone does not require you to be a licensed massage therapist to attend our sponsored workshops. We encourage you to participate in our workshops, regardless of your skill level or experience, as you will gain beneficial and applicable knowledge to improve your skills.

What are the hours of the workshop?

Workshops are typically two days in length, and from 8:15 am until 6:00 pm the first day, and from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm the second day.

How many people can attend each workshop?

Biotone limits the class capacity to 30 students so that each attendee will have the chance to participate and have close interaction with the workshops instructors.

Do I have to attend the whole workshop?

The National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork requires that all attendees wishing to receive any Continuing Education (CE) contact hours attend the entire workshop. Biotone designs workshops to allow students to partner together and depend on each one another's participation to complete treatments and activities during the workshop.

When does the Advanced Registration end?

Advanced Registration ends 30 days prior to the first day of the workshop. Attendees registering less than 30 days before the first day of the workshop will be required to pay the normal workshop fee.

What is the Cancellation Policy?

Because we are limited in class size and we often have a waiting list, our cancellation policy is very firm. If you cancel more than 30 days before the workshop, you will receive a 50% refund. If you cancel within 30 days of the workshop, you will not receive a refund, as we will not be able to resell your seat and materials will have already been shipped to the workshop location.

Will the 16 Contact Hours be recognized by my licensing organization?

The contact hours follow the guidelines of the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB). You will need to check with the licensing board of your individual state for specific state requirements.

What supplies do I need to bring?

Upon registration, you will be given a complete list of supplies that are required for that particular workshop. Typically, towels, a bathing suit and some extra clothes are necessary as you will be working with massage and spa products that may get on clothing and skin.

Are there other workshop locations that will be added this year?

We are quickly booking our 2010 schedule for all classes. If your school is interested in hosting, please send inquires to workshopinfo@biotone.com.
